Hey Everyone! We just finished the Holiday Menu for 2010. We will have it up on the website and ready for online ordering on October 1st for delivery on November 20th and December 18th. The Holiday Box is great to buy for yourself but it is also perfect for sharing with someone who could not afford putting a delicious holiday meal on the table for their family. Look for the menu soon or contact your local Community Outreach Representatives if you would like to pre-order in large quantities.

Hello All, We were notified of a potential recall for an item from Valley Meats. It was the one pound Ground Beef Chub that was in the Regular, Protein and Kid’s Box for July. The product that was in our boxes are not part of the Lot numbers being recalled. We have confirmed the lot numbers with Valley Meat so we can rest assured that the product is good. OC Unemployment

Last Friday, May 21^st, the State of California’s Employment Development Department cited that April’s unemployment rate in Orange County dropped to 9.5%, down from 10.1% in March. In addition, The Orange County Register reported on Friday that Esmael Adibi, a Chapman University economist, stated that many “people departed from the labor force so the lower unemployment wasn’t due to job growth.” He added, “There will be some more jobs created, but the pace is going to be very slow.”

 In the last year, Orange County has lost 28,400 jobs, with the construction industry taking the brunt of job losses. Construction recorded the largest year-over decline with a loss of 12,700 jobs. On The Orange County Register blog, a blogger named Phil posted, “Both my brothers are in construction. Both of them are unemployed. Both of them would do anything to find work.”

Offering help, The Treasure Box provides affordable, monthly boxes of food to the Orange County community, allowing families and individuals to save money in these challenging economic times while making good and healthy eating choices.

A customer named Sherrie recently said that “This is a great service. Thank you.” Another customer named Lorraine stated that this is a “Wonderful program! Thank you so much!” Still another customer named David said, “Love the value and convenience” of The Treasure Box program.

A Taste of the Day!

A very successful Treasure Box Distribution Day! So many great things to report that we will be sharing it throughout the coming week. First distribution in Moorpark w/ over 900 boxes ordered. Will be posting videos on that in the coming days on our YouTube Channel. We also participated in the San Diego Cityfest Louis Palau event addressing Hunger. Wow...people were lined up since 6:30 a.m. & they knew the distribution wasn't even 'til 1 p.m.! Well that's just a taste of the day. Share more with you soon. Have a great & relaxing Sunday!

Ok...it’s time for our Treasure Box Fan Challenge!

The Challenge: Talk to at least, but not limited to, ONE friend, family member, co-worker, stranger, church , local organization or anyone who will listen to you (in California and/or Arizona) and tell them how Treasure Box has been helping you and your family save money each month while eating great food. Then give them the website where they can check it out for themselves. To really make it a challenge it needs to be someone who has never heard of Treasure Box before. If you would like, print out the March Regular Box Menu that is listed below. Then you can show them the menu....you know it’s too good to believe unless you see it yourself!

The Purpose: To spread the news about this great money saving food program and expand our locations near you.

A Note To You On Behalf Of Our Treasure Box Team

Well Friends, after a very busy and wet day we are glad to report that the Distribution Day went quite well with only a minimal amount of challenges. It was beautiful as always to see so much love and care being shown by our amazing sites and volunteers. Most of the Treasure Box Community Outreach Representatives reported that things went quite smoothly.
I wanted to add a few quotes from the feedback I received from our CORs (Community Outreach Representatives):
“In San Diego we were on time or early at all of our deliveries. The rain was hard at times, but everyone rolled with it and had a great attitude. Our sites were prepared with tarps, SUVs instead of open bed trucks, I was just so impressed”. Kristy Meyers – San Diego COR

Doug Metcalfe, who is one of our Regional Managers, reported that good things are happening in Northern California. We have a new site signing on this month.

As for the High Desert Area we had a wonderful day as well! It's so great to work with so many wonderful people.

Treasure Box Welcomes Our Newest COR!

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to our newest COR (Community Outreach Representative), Jessica Ortega, who joined our Treasure Box Team last week. Jessica will be covering the San Gabriel Valley and parts of Los Angeles.  Jessica comes to us with over 20 years of sales and management experience in the manufacturing industry and an incredible heart of service in philanthropic work in her community, church and private Christian schools for over 15 years.  Her husband is part owner of a family business that sells food products so she is well aware of the food business. We are so glad to have you on board!

Update from Teresa

Sitting at a Starbucks in Valencia. Catching up on calls and emails from today. Still one more stop to make before heading back to the AV area. Thank  you all for all your excitement about picking Treasure Box on Saturday. It is going to be a great day. We love having such a wonderful product to offer. It makes our jobs as Community Outreach Representatives so rewarding.
Had a meeting today with a the Santa Clarita Valley International School. Met with Dawn Evenson (a former boss of mine when she was the principal at Almondale Middle School) , some of her staff, students and parents in Castaic. They hope to be up an running as a Treasure Box Site as soon as February. Yes, that's only a few days away! They are excited about it and so am I.
Also met with a wonderful group in Tehachapi yesterday. Tehachapi Church of the Nazarene. Enjoyed speaking with the Pastor and those in meeting that will be operating the program there. We will keep you posted as things continue to develop with both of these sights. Now I would like to get some churches and organizations on board in Boron, Cal City and Rosamond. If you know any churches or organization in those areas that would be interested in Hosting the Treasure Box program please have them contact me. Okay that's all for now. Have more work to do. Hope to meet some of you Saturday. If you see me visiting the site where you pick up Treasure Box please let me know. I would love to meet you.
